i was driving and hit a small mud puddle with some water in it and the car died, no electronics work right. the radio and cig lighter work when the key is on all the way back. put it forward on run and nothing works. the gas guage only goes up half way and it is full. no start or click

any ideas?

May have shorted something...check all your fuses and relays. Did the battery get wet?

 

nope, just the bottom of the motor. fuses look fine

 

So what happens when you turn the key?

 

when i turn the key everything dies like it has a dead short or and open

i unhooked the post going to the starter and it still does the same thing. when i shift from park to neutral, the gauges all die like its shorting out. and when i tried to start it regardless how, the starter fuse is BUZZing pretty good inside. this thing is driving me bonkers.

im curious if there is a sensor in the tranny that is bad? im lost

which side of the car did you hit the puddle on?

 

ill be damned, changed the battery and now it works. i broke the battery inside i guess..... still readys 12.7 volts until you load it
