Default Car Stereo info

Hey, I recently purchased a '97 Neon, and I wanted to know if I am able to connect my ipod directly to the stereo. There isn't a cassette deck, or CD deck and therefore I have no idea how to connect it. I would buy a deck but I have no clue where I could put it. It doesn't look like there is any spot where I can put it on the front. Thanks, help would be greatly appreciated.

Erich

I picked upan FM transmitter on ebay for my MP3 player. It's powered from the cigarette lighter socket and transmits to the FM radio. It was only around $20.00 on ebay.

Think about it...in 97 the iPod wasn't around, so do you really think there is a connection for it on the stock radio?

Get an aftermarket stereo and put it in place of the stock one.

Are you serious? It's held in with 2 screws, take those out and pull the radio out. It isn't welded in there.

off topic a little but it can be hard on some cars my 69 bonneville it takes about an hour to remove thankfully it a convertable so its easy to get in and lay on my back and work on it.....but it a neon remove the cover by pulling it then unbolt 2 bolts maby 10mm and pull it out pull the connectors and your done installing a new one is kinda hard with the splicing of the right wires i didn't have my stratus right for threetrys but it was my first time doing it now itlooks good and sounds good.

^^^If you get a wiring harness it's easy. The wires are color coded, so it's real easy if you aren't color blind.
