lost all power what did i do
was getting code 35 on 97 sohc replaced rad fan relay, hooked battery back up, started engine, checked codes with obd scanner then erased code 35. then when i turned key to restart car i heard a small sound like "poof" and then had no power whatsoever. everything is dead, no lights, radio, wont even crank. like trying to start a car without battery. im assuming that "poof" sound was not a good sound. i checked all the red green yellow fuses and the all look good. could i have fried one of the black cube lookin things? anyone have any suggestions?
i started the car and let it idle until the fans kicked in to make surerad fans were working. theycame on,(afterabout 10 minutes)then i turned car off and then checked codes with obd scanner. it was only after i cleared code 35 and then tried to restart that it make the poof sound. rechecked cables clean and tight. dont know where to start checking.
no i didnt check the battery it self just the connections( posts) do you think it might of been the battery itself? i dont know much about electrical stuff, just figured it might be a fuse or something. would the battery itself lose power immediately if it blew? and is it a common thing for a battery to go like that?
