You could use one from 97-99. Doesn't have to be a 98 specific.

I know, but all the neons at the junk yards around me dont have any. All they have is 95-96. They do have 97-99 cars but with not engines......go figure.

as i stated before:
95-mid 96are unique to those years
mid 96-97 are more of a half breed.....share sensors with 95's and 98's
98-99 are unique to those years

there are a few ways to tell what kinda harness you need:
main difference: pcm plug, 1 large one or 2 smaller ones....from there its a bit more difficult
smaller differences:
1: fuel injector plugs, 95-96 have small metal clips that hold the plugs to the injectors....97-99 have the small red push clips
2: coil pack, 95-96 have 3 round pins....97-99 have 3 flat pins
3: vss, 95-96 have 3 round pins....97-99 have 3 flat pins
4: iac, 95-96 use a metal clip to hold the sensor in place....97-99 have a regular finger push clip

just a few differences, i think there is 1 or 2 more, but this is the best i can do off the top of my head[&:]

Yes I did as well as others. From what I understand, some 98-99 wiring harnesses will swap right in...others need to be spliced.

I guess I should start making that more clear now.

just depends on what i wrote that will make it a direct swap.....honestly, i thought they were the same too until i started ripping apart my last donor car
