Ok.....one of my 96 Neons starting running crappy for no reason last night and then the check engine light came on. I pulled the code and it is 43. I know what it means, (cylinder misfire), but I have no idea what might have caused it. Today, it runs fine. Anybody have an idea?

 

More than likely its time to change your spark plugs, inspect your wires and coil pack.

 

Pull the spark plug wires off the coil pack and inspect for acid build up inside the wire, Code 43 is for a muilt-misfire or cylinder misfire #1,#2,#3, or #4. And can also coil pack circuit or drivers. These are the same codes weather you have a SOHC or DOHC.
