have a 97 SOHC 5 spd swap done,at the auto parts store- guy tells me theirs two different clutch design a "one piece design" where the pressure plate n disc are as one ~n~ the other are interchangeable, my question is does it matter which one i use, if there is a better or worse scenario???? or is is absoultley nessary to use one or the other, the way i went was by the 8th VIN, n came out "D" calling for the one piece design...... :P
IF anyone has a soultion/answer it would be much appreciated thanks!!
what year did the tranny come out of? and it would me a modular or nonmodular clutch... i did the swap with a 95 sohc tranny and needed a nonmodular clutch
im not 100% on it ether but in a modular the flywheel comes a part of the clutch when you buy the kit...
neither one of the clutches have the flywheel attached.....
modular is the 1 piece and non-modular is the one that has the separate components......
modulars came on u.s. built neon.......non-modular were on mexico built neons....
you will have to get the clutch that will match your flywheel since the flywheels are different between the 2
