Hi I was wondering if it is possible to swap/mod a 2.2turbo manifold to work on my SOHCneon? Has anybody ever done that? If so tell me what i need to do so : ) I'm only lookin for like 25-30 hp more

Given enough time, money, and effort, anythings possible......but to answer your question, its not possible without a lot of modification and work. Even then, it may not work...

Truth be told, you should look into the Hahn turbo kits....roughly 2k for the kit....but it'll make that Neon run with SRT-4's...

 

yeah hahn is a great kit i think its 3k with the intercooler andintercooler pipes.you could do a srt-4 turbo set up or a custom set up.

 

personally i think the hahn kits suck....way too much money for what you get....especially the intercooler

if your planning on putting an old hemi in a neon then it should be a piece of cake to fit the 2.2 turbo on the 2.0

 

yeah hahn is not worth the money to me i will do a custom one for all my cars but it's still a good kit

 

Yeah the Hemi will take some time yet, but I wanted to have some fun before summers end in my daily driver 4dr Neon Sport

I heard some Eagle Talons have the same 420a Engine and some of those come with Turbos. Any chance those will work?

 

not a chance they will work..
the talon motor is different then the neon motor and the turbo is on the opposite side of the engine.....with a different bolt patter also...
the talon/eclipse turbo on a neon would position itself partially in the tranny....the rest would be in the driveshaft....

the only turbo that will bolt right up is the srt4 turbo or a prefabbed kit

 

Go with the SRT turbo. Alot less than the Hahn kit and bolts right up. Not saying Hahn doesnt bolt right up, but for the same amount of power I could save almost 2 grand. My $.02

 

The Stage 1 Hahn Kit goes for about $2200.....not to mention you still need a bunch more stuff other then JUST the SRT-4 turbo.....

The point here is that the Hahn kit is really the fastest and most reliable way to do it.....

The Stage 2 kit runs about $2900-3100 - about the cost of a SRT-4 motor (if u can find it cheap that is)....and will put down around 250-275hp AND run a very, very low 13 sec in the 1/4 mile.....and that's coming from simple bolt-on items with no internal upgrades...

 

But also one of if not the most expensive turbo set up. I could get the complete SRT tubro set up (turbo, manifold, all the lines, IC and piping plus put better internals in my 2.0 for the cost of the Hahn Stage 1 kit. Plus I can boost the SRT turbo higher than the 5-7 psi that the HR turbo can (http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/ne...neonstage1.htm). Much higher in fact. Even with the HR Stage 2 Kit (only adding an IC and piping for another what $600?) you can only run a max of 10 psi (http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/ne...neonstage2.htm). All Im saying is that yes, if you want a turbo kit that already has everything you need to get the ~275hp you want then go with the Hahn stage 1 or 2 kit, but be prepared to pay $2000-$3000 for it, but if you want the same amount of power for much less then go with SRT turbo kit. Trust me, I already planned on going with the Hahn Kit but didnt want to spend that kind of money. And this is all just MY opinion.
