Default Rear Light problem

I'm looking for a bit of help here with my 97 Neon. You all seem to be knowledgeable, and I thought I was as well - until now. My rear lights are having problems. The brake, turn, and reverse lights work just fine, but when I pull the **** to turn on my headlights, my rear lights wont come on. That means at night I have no rear lights while driving, only when braking or turning. I hope that makes sense. I've checked all fuses and the wiring from the lights to the fuse box and I see nothing wrong. Have any of you experienced this or have any ideas on what could be wrong?

As a side note, my rear speakers also stopped working. Dont know if that has anything to do with it.

These problems were intermittent, but now dont change. Thanks for any help...

Yes the cluster lights still work fine.
Also, I put a multimeter into the headlight switch's wiring and they all spiked voltage in a similar manner when I pulled the switch.

As a side note, my horn and airbag dont work, but I have a yellow connector and a white connector coming out from what appears to be the back, left side of the steering wheel. I have a Haynes manual for the car, but it doesn't show them. Do the connectors go to the horn and airbag, or do they go to something I don't have, like cruise control?

Is there anyplace with pictures of the steering column so that I can figure out what the connectors are for?

I had the car in for A/C work last October and when he gave the car back to me the air bag light was on and he didn't know why. The horn also didn't work.

The car is always in alot of rain, especially this time of year in Florida. The evap drain was plugged and I had to unplug it over the weekend. Quite a bit of water was running into the passengar side of the car, but I don't think it got high enough to get to the wires.

Just an update. The 2 connectors did go to the airbag and horn. Once I hooked them up the airbag light went out and the horn started working. Also, the rear speakers, rear lights, dome light, and door open relay problems I was having was all traced back to a large harness behind the fuse box, under the dash. From what I can tell, everything is all working now.
