Default Listen to this!!!!

Alright I have a 95 Dodge Neon as I was told. When I replaced my ebrake cable I ordered two cables for a 95 Dodge Neon. So I replaced them myself and they were too long and I could not adjust my ebrake as much as I tired to. I tried the adjuster screw and everything. I had two mechanics try to adjust it and to see if I screwed something up when I put my brakes back together. Nothing was wrong. I did everything right and screwed nothing up. The second mechanic that looked at it said that the cables are too long and that he believes that they called my car a 95 Neon which it is really a 96 Neon. So when I ordered the cables for my ebrake they were the wrong size. He also said something about there being an adjuster under the ebrake handle for an adjustement on a 95 Neon which is not there on my car. Has anyone every heard of that before? It is so screwed up. I want me ebrake to work and if anyone can give me some advice then let me know.

the cabels would be the same for a 95 and a 96....
the haynes manual shows a way to adjust them from behind the e-brake handle, but i could never figure it out.....maybe you need new e-brake shoes????

All the brakes were done in the rear. The drums, shoes, adjuster screw, wheel cylinder, hardware kit, and the ebrake cables. It doesn't make sense why the cables would be too long besides the fact that they are the wrong ones?

could be wrong cables.....but all the cables from 95-99 would be the same....only difference would be rear drums or discs....but those cabels are not interchangable

Its odd because the cables are too long to be for this car. I got them from a dealer and I don't know how they could screw it up that much. It seemed to me like the cables i put in went in with no trouble. But they were just too long.

call another dealer and ask for a part number for what you need.....see if it matches with the part you have...
i have ran into alot of situationswhere 1 dealership has a different part number then another...

so the cables are ran the same way as the old ones??? you have the bracket that under the car bolted up and everything???

Wait if i remember correctly, when i have my console out there was a like y thing with two cables coming into it for the ebrake and it looks like there was nuts to pull the wire tight and tighten it. Take ur console out and look.

I fixed the problem. I just took a wire clamp and put it in there so it would tighten up the cable. Its not the best thing or the right thing for it but it works. I guess ill just leave it and see how it works.
