All that isn't necessary. You can use a coke can and just cut it to the shape of the gasket and slide it in between.
You will get a Code 32 if you don't have an aftermarket PCM.
i used some 1/16" aluminum that was about 2 inches wide.....traced the pattern on it from the gaskets....then used tin snips to cut it out....after that i used the dremel to smooth out the edges...
i could make you the plates if you want...only takes about 5 minuites
das this is probably one of the only things I disagree with you on, but maybe theres something I'm missing, The EGR heats up the Intake charge with hot exhaust gas, generally cars gain Horse Power when the intake charge is cooler hence what Nitrous does is cool the fuel and air charge thus gaining power. Now I'm not trying to compare nitrous to an egr block off, I just think the same principal is there with cooler intake charge = more power. I would think the egr block off does more for HP gain then taking the weather stripping off the cowl as some have stated helps.
Your idea sounds correct in theory. So get the car dyno'd and measure the engine temp with a functional EGR valve and then block it off and do the same thing and post results.
