ok..well I have had a rough day with this car....I changed the hose I had patched...Changed the thermostat....and flushed the radiator.....yet the damn car still over heats....the only thing I didnt eliminate from the problem is the temp sensor....a little sidenote...the gauge says its overheating..but when i turned off the car and wait 5 seconds and turn it back on the gauge reads normal. so I have reason to believe its the temp sensor.......any kind of halp would be helpful or just to reassure its the temperature sensor.

 

are the fans working???? if so, take the radiator fans off and check the condition of the radiator fins....after time they start to fall out and it causes alot of overheating problems.....i just went through this with my wifes car

 

Yea the fans are working properly and are connected and secure......im like 85% sure its the sensor so i'll change that and see whats happening with that

 

I just changed the temp sensor and the radiator cap...along with a list here

1.) One hose I had a patch kit on.
2.) Radiator cap
3.) water temperature Sensor
4.) Thermostat

I'm getting tired of this...also the fans are working...also as a foot note when the car is on H and not at normal operating temperature...I turned off the car....waited 5 seconds and turned it back on and the gauge is at normal operating temp.....so to me it sounds electrical..not mechanical soooo I really don't know what it is.. If anyone has any idea please leave something

 

Buy a new radiator

 

spend fourty bucks on a real temp gauge and get rid of the dummy gauge

ok then thanks guys for your input...i'll try the gauge first then the radiator if all else fails ......the gauge first becuase the car isnt actually overheating...the car runs fine..no smoke the water stays in the radiator and doesnt boil out....thats why im saying electrical but again if all else fails then i'll change the radiator
