i still say lets have a foot race and see what the out come is then have another one and you carry a 10lb barbell in each hand and then see what happens.

comparing me and my carare 2 completely different situations......[8D]
my cars weight and power carrying 20lbs would be much less work then me carrying 20lbs....
the weight differences are more like this:
my car....2200lbs
hood.......20lbs

me.......................210lbs
2-10lb weights.....20lbs
so to make the a bit closer with the weight difference,
the race would more equivelant to me running with 1 pound weights in each hand...which i dont see as being much of a problem

if two cars cross the finish line neck to neck one winning by the paint on the front bumper and the other car could of done some weightreduction to win well i believe it would be worth it. To buy CF just to make your car look good well I am glad you got the cash to waste. I guess it really depends how what you are willing to do to win.

I don't see the point in mild weight redux. If you are gonna do it, then DO IT RIGHT. Lighten the doors, take out the P/S and A/C system, radio, dash, seats, carpeting, sound deadener, take out all the glass and replace with Lexan and so on.

I see the point you are trying to make but unless you get the car timed before and after the weight redux, it's all just theory.

i personally would never waste the money to have a carbon fiber trunk, hood, and fenders or gut everything out of my car....
why get rid of all the seats and everything nicejust to go out and have fun by yourself????
if i was gonna build an all out drag car that would be trailered averywhere it went and only raced at the track then ok, i probally would.....but not if the car is ever gonna be driven on the street.......

you could get rid of more weight by getting rid of the a/c components then you would by spending $700 on a carbon fiber hood......

the only reason i would do weight redux is if my build dose not get me what i want then i might consider it but my build will probably make me happy[8D]..........if cf was alotcheaper i would get them for weight loss.
