anybody ever disassemble an airbag before? i plan on taking out the airbag in the steering wheel and replacing it with an LCD screen? anybody do anything similar?

 

only taken it out...might want to take the fuses out of the fuse panel and the light out of the instrument cluster lol.

 

i've taken it out before and see how its installed to the face of the airbag. my concern is unwanted detonation well after its been taken out. i kinda like the way i look right know with no deforminties

 

ull just get a bruise, but u have to set some kind of electricl signali think in order to explode it
pppl do it all the time for fun,they need a switch. but isnt an lcd gonna be a little distrating wen u drive expecially if u go aound turns??

 

i'll put in an on and off switch for it. my plan is to put a slim PS2 in the glovebox(fits with only the need to create brackets to hold it in place) so i'll have something to do on breaks or just sittin around in my car.

 

better put a biger battery in there, ur gonna drian alot faster expesially if the cars turned off......

 

i figure with more electronics i might want a better battery and even a high output alt. but how would it drain the battery if the power is turned off?

 

never mind i just realized you meant with the engine off but electronics still goin'

 

so...if you put a screen in the steering wheel, how are you gonna run the wires for it so that they dont get tangeled up every time you turn?????

i had a regular ps2 where my glove box was at before......with some brackets it actually fit pefect
