my taillights work just fine but my third brake light and my break lights dont work... its all started when i took my speaker box out of my car.. and at first i just thought it was a blown fuse and it helped with the taillights comeing on but when i press the brake i dont have the brighter lights show up,,,

what is wrong????

cuz if the tailights are working why would the brake lights not work??

and its not the bulbs cuz i got both parts of the bulb to light up when i was messing with the wires that came apart when i took the speaker box out..

please help

 

You could also check under the brake pedal where the little sensor that turns the brake lgihts on/off is located. Maybe its stuck or something? I know at one time my little rubber piece that keeps the lights off when the pedal is not pressed in came off so the sensor was always out which meant my brake lights were always on. If the sensor is somehow stuck in then the lights would be always off. Its a sensor similar to the ones that turn the interior light on/off located in your door jams. Just an idea though if you were doing wire splicting or anythign then this is probably not your problem.

 

You may have a bad fuse or a brake light switch. use a test lite and ck your fuses and if they are good then ck power going into the brake switch. Or you could just buy a brake switch and hope for the best.

 

I have the same problem with my reverse lights, I thought there was a post for the reverse lights but couldnt find it,anyways when I put it into reverse my lights use to flickerthen it went to one of them flickering now they dont work at all. I checked the fuses and the bulbs. Could it be a short or what???

 

which fuse would it be cuz i dont see anywere in the fuse box were it has tailights and everything else is working in my car so there are no blown fuses cuz i already checked but if it was the fuse then which slot would it be???

and my brake swich seems to properly working but it it possible for it to just go out and stop working??

Take the safety neutral switch off the transmission and install a new switch and be sure to put the gasket back on too.

 

well tomorrow im gonna find out how much the new switch is gonna cost and im gonna get it on thursday and hopefully it will be fixed..

how the whole thing went down is i was hooking my amp to my tailights so they would flash with the beat of the music, (for next years car show), while a switch was flipped on but i might have ran the power into power or something idk
