Man i just done my brake line on my neon also. Blew on left rear right before it goes up under the gas tank so i replaced the whole line till about middle of back door. It was rusted up just as bad as yours.

Yep same spot. What happen was someone told me one of my reverse lights was out.Soi went down to my garage to get a spare one i have and put the car in reverse and pulled the ebrake and when i did it blew the line about 12 inches from that rubber hose also.
