hey sorry to post a probably beatin topic but im runnin out the door to work and wanna have something to read when i get home.... im taking my sohc head off tomorrow and wanna know the quickest way to do it... thanks!

Actually, I think 3 gallons of oil in the crankcase, and 30 minutes of redline, and the head should excuse itself from the engine bay without turning a single wrench...

dumb question so you can put everything back together but what about not even doing a vale job woukd it be ok to just take it apart replace gaskets clean it and put it back together??

You can, it is not recommended though. You cannot always be sure of the condition of the head, so it is best to send it to the machine shop or get a reman, but I usually just do a good cleaning and valve job.
