swapping a caliber srt-4 engine and tranny into a neon??

Not from what I understand... Do some more research.. the caliber tranny is TOTALLY different from the Neon SRT-4 tranny.. and I beleive the mounting points on the engine for the Caliber are totally different too... I think it would actually take more to put that engine/trans into the 1st gen neon than it would to put the SRT-4 into it!

 

How do you know that. A srt 4 swap takes some work into a gen 1. And since he posted it here I bet that is what he is wanting to put it in.
No offense bone33 but I think you just answer stuff to just to be posting a comment. If you have done this swap already then I am sorry for the comment but since the caliber srt 4 is just coming out this year dought you have. Sorry if this pisses you off. but if you don't know DON"T say it does. I pretty sure it will take some work even in a gen2 more so for a gen1
But on a lighter note I would love to get a hold of the 6 speed tranny to put in with my srt 4 motor I already have in my gen1

dude that is F'n sweet. i would love all wheel drive in my neon. that had to cost an arm and a leg tho.

Wondering the same thing just posted to see what would happen and to show people that if they want to swap a gd tractor motor in bad enuf then it can happen just need money and time. Basicly it was a shut up its been done. blah blah blah blah blah....
