when i ran sohc i picked up a dohc computer and i could tell the difference plus my rev limiter went from like 5600 rpms to bout 7200 rpms.

i have a mtx with an atx tb it makes a differance more so when you puta new intake on at the same time you can really tell the tb that i got also has a lot more throttle response than the mtx and also i get a little better mpg
i guess i'll go with the atx throttlebody along with the dohc pcm if i can find one cheap. i'll get my downpipe on friday. so with all those combined i should be content for now.
well ur gonna like the outcome of those cheap mods there also I do make a ported intake manifold http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273730/1 page 8 bout half way down ull see the difference and makes a difference.

The best power gain I got from my stock DOHC pcm was 5hp says the Gtech.

Uh the atx throttle body does add alittle horsepower. It is like 5 to 10 horsepower and i think it is closer to 5 hp.

Until I see this proven on a dyno, I am going to have to disagree. The Mopar PCM adds about 5 HP, so I don't see the stock DOHC PCM adding 5 HP.

Well I only am so grounded in this belief only because the gains were consistant with the PCM swap,My original PCM had a software updatethat was given in2001 so who knows what was done to the pcm in the way of flashing, it says it was done by a Chrysler Dealer.
But there is no denying putting the DOHC pcm boosted 5hp on the Gtech over my baseline power on my specific car with my specific setup, and it also achived in the 4500-5500 Rpm range. I've done over 10 tests to average out a baseline and they were consistant to within 2hp from each other, now fast forward to the DOHC pcm swap and I've got a consistant margin of 5hp gains with multipul test runs to confirm.
I think we need to get the Mythbusters on this onebecause I don't have any cash to Dyno a stock motor.
I understand the Gtech isnt the gosipel but it gives a very close ballpark answer and is acurate enough to tell when you add something that increases performance. It worked very well in acuratly predicting what the power of my Brothers Turbo Acclaim had, and guess what it was within 2hp of what the car really made from the factory. The funny thing is I'm seeing that same consistant reading with my car and the factory ratings and even its use on my parents van.

it wouldnt of been updated with anything special.......usually they get updated because of a TSB for a misfire

I was very skeptical of the Gtech till I got to use it myself and research. You might gain some confidence in it after I tell you how it works...

What it has you do is set the weight of your car and it references that to pre determinedHP figures G'sxWeightto get its readings. Basically it refferencesHow much Hp it takes to create certain G's at a given weight and it gets the G information when you accelerate. When I'm in my Neon with a full trunkthe carweighs 2810lbs, I weigh 245 now so what ever the car weighs without me and a full trunk I don't really know, but I have the good fortune to be able to weigh my car at a local junkyard scale plus refference the door Stickerweight and thats how I set up my Gtech.
The thing is really cool it even has a sensor that acuratly determines quarter mile distance and time within a 10th of a second. My best Quarter mile time with my Neon was 16.5 with the old tranny with worn clutches. I'm not going to test my quarter mile with new tranny till I get 2nd Gear working,But my first gear is pretty damn snappy now, I can take Chevy's off the line now!
