.0005 sounds more like top ring gap sepc... thats even tight.
.004 sounds normal for pistons clearence, how can you even think .0001" is enough for pistons, bearings need more clearence than that ... wow no wonder.

The guy at the shop probably honed the cylinders to clearence for cast pistons because that is what the majority of his rebuilds use. He dosen't do much high performance work does he? He probably never gave the spec sheet a second glance.

no i dont think he does very many high performance engines.....atleast not like this one.....
i dont know what his thinking about the clearance is, but i cant complain too much since i have no idea about it either...

i thought about getting the pistons coated before, but now i am on way to tight of a budget to think about that.....i dont even know where im gonna get the money to get the new piston, rings, and gaskets[&:]
i think it all is gonna depend on how much i can get out of my koni struts
