Battery light flashing on and off, car jerks?
My battery light will once and awhile, and more commonly now, come on every time I start the car. It will kind of jerk once in awhile when Im in 5th going down the highway.
What I've noticed, is that there is so much frequency when I rev the car above 1000 rpms, The radio no longer works and is just static. If I shut the engine off, but leave the radio on, the static is gone, even still going 100km/h.
I check the battery while running, little over 14 volts, battery is brand new last week, this all started actually after I put the battery in, and Im not sure if it could be related. Dumb thought, maybe.
If you have some insight on the problem, I would apprcieate some help, thank you.

Update.

I hooked my multi-meter up to a wire I ran to the battery, grounded the other in the car.
Read 12.50 volts off, 12.3-4 running, and after I went for a 5 min drive, the voltage never increased.
I check the connections off the alternator, they looked good.

you should be runing 13 to 14 while the car and alt. is charging. I think with my optima it was sitting at 13.43v when i thought my alt was going out.

Tore apart the alternator, looked ok, brushes were a little worn.
Cleaned them, "stretched" them out a tad then put it back together and is working good now.
Will be getting a rebuild kit this week, thanks all for your help!
