I say go for it. Wont be losing too much money if it doesnt turn out right. But as spud says you get what u pay for.
and the neon isnt a 420a engine

 

well i was under the impression that it was.. when i was goning to order my pistons,rods, and cams from slowboy racing they told me it was a 420a. what is it then?

 

Since when wasent the stock neon a 420a motor???

Just wondering since every 1stneon came stock with one???

Q: I heard that the Eclipse and Neon have the same engine, is this true?
A:No! The eclipse has a 420a engine and the neon has the ECC (DOHC) engine or ECB (SOHC). The DOHC neon engine was a joint venture between Lamborghini (YES, that's right) and Chrysler. Mitsubishi used the Neon engine in their non-turbo Eclispe, but reversed the head to put the exhaust manifold in the front. The 4g63 engine (turbo) was entirely designed by Mitsubishi in Japan and has no common parts with the neon.

 

the neons block is basically a 420a.....but the whole motor is designated with the ECC and ECB engine codes....

though alot of people just call the neon engine a 420a....however if you take a 420a and set it next to a neon motor, then overall, they look nothing alike....strip it down to the block,and then you wil see the similarities....
actually, the 95 neons block is th same as a 420 (internaly), but 96-99 is different....

 

thats right, the neon and the eclipse SHARE THE SAME BLOCK! the only difference is the head is turned around... thus, they are the same block!!

 

alright well we are gettin off topic here haha. what do you guys say about the turbo????

 

doesnt sound bad.....the turbo is rebuilt.....
just remember that you would still need the manifold (unless it there, but no pic) and everything else
