Default oil leak??

My sisters car started leaking oil so bad she couldn't even drive it. So her Dad started tearing in to stuff without knowing what he was doing. He said it is leaking by the thing the oil filter attaches to. Do any of you guys know what this would be? He took all the bolts out of it he said, and can't get it to come off. Help me out before he tears something up. What is something right there that could leak?

in that location it could be the crank sensors, oil pump, cam seals, or even possibly, the last time on oil change was performed, the o-ring for the old filter might not have been removed

ok got a little more info on the leak. He said it doesn't leak when the engine is running, but when you shut off the engine it leaks for about 20 minutes then stops again. You can actually see it dripping out pretty fast when you shut off the engine. Then it gets slower and then quits leaking.
