This is a common misconception in the world of racing. Hot spark does not = HP. Sure it is great, but is only needed when you are turning extremely high rpms, then if you get too crazy, say by by to your pistons... You don't really need hotter spark with high compression if you think about it, the higher the compression the easier it tends to combust meaning it really requires less spark.

diesels run off of compression, they arent constantly getting spark

You don't really need hotter spark with high compression if you think about it,
the higher the compression the easier it tends to combust
heres a good link that talks about multiple spark ingnition. not the same as just having the coils but explains the diffrence between OEM and performance

As to the reason they use individual coils, thats because heat disturbs electrical continuity. with electrical **** like that, the cooler it runs the better. sepperate the coils into individuals and each one gets a 3 rotation brake to cool down befor it has to fire again. so they can run more power and generate it without melting the coil.
So if ur running 30psi this would be a great idea!
if ur running n/a or just 10psi no point, really.
Well at least thats my take on the whole topic.
