With any MTX swap you will need to wire to the reverse switch , unsure if you went from an auto to manual or manual to another...but likely you need to use the reverse switch to turn on the lights ...

i did atx to mtx.... the way i tried it first is i left the switch off the mtx on and spliced it to the atx connector and the third wire i just grounded it... the car started fine with no problem... but no reverse light... do i have to put the atx switch in place of the mtx switch and then ground off the third wire?any body

I take it the mtx has two wires it should be 12 volts on one side and the light on the other side
I'd rewire it like that leaving the third wire on the atx harness disconnected
