Its a 97 dodge neon sohc. I let it sit for 5 month thinking it was the fuel pump. My truck broke down and now I need to get my neon running. I trying starting last friday, I charged the battery, but nothing. I then replaced the coil pack and spark plugs, and then it started after four trys. It then died after 10 mins. It sound really strong/healthy. Since then I replaced the cam shaft sensor(you should replace it, the factory one leaks oil, look it uphttp://www.aa1car.com/library/2004/us60426.htm) and then the crank shaft sensor but still no spark. It cranks really strong.
Yesterday I ripped out all my stereo wires, and removed my car alarm but still nothing.
Does anybody have a idea what is wrong?
Please help.

Get a test light, (a good one), put the clamp on the negative battery post, then the probe into the center green/orange wire on the coil plug. Have someone turn the key to the on position, the light should light up. Then have them crank it, again the light should light up. If it does, then put the clamp on the positve battery post, and the probe on either of the two outer wires. Have someone turn the car over, if the light blinks, its good. If not, your problem lies in the computer most likely.
I took my car down to a shop and they found it was my "auto s/down (autoshutdown) relay", they replaced it and it start just fine. They charged me $160. Two days later the car wouldn't start again, I check the fuse and it was blown. Wow, I was pissed when this happened...hehe. So I did some research, and found that the wiring harrnest can rub on the valve cover(the corner closest to the battery). So I pull the wiring harrenst back and saw some very small chunks taken out of the valve cover. The wires were some what exposed, so I wrapped them with new wireloom and electrial taped them. I replaced the fuse and havn't had a problem in the last 2 weeks, it must have fixed it. So since the car is running now, I went out to drive it and drove it a little to hard and jumped a tooth on my timing. I love my car to much to get ride of it. I bought it for 8k and put about 12k into it. I like working on my car but I would rather be driving it..lol. People ask me why I don't have a honda, all I say is,"because I don't wear printed skated jackets, I dont' wear camo cargo shorts and I havn't got a mo-hawk." Being trendy isf-ing dumb. Lets see, honda/acura is 1.6 to 1.8(or expeisive 2.4 crv swap) and dodge is all 2.0 with a easy swap to a 2.4. Maybe if dodge had a cool sounding "VTEC" it would be more popular...hehehe....
