Default Hypereutectic vs fordged

ok i was going to swap out my pistons with std size Hypereutectic pistons with a slightly higher compression. now how much nitrous can those piston handle vers fordged? can they handle 150 or 200 shot of nitrous. they will be combined with ether eagle rods or aluminum rods

its really up to alot more then just the pistons... the cams play a huge role in it... you will atleast have to run 94 octane gas and then have a mp pcm for the extra fuel that you will need then you will have to have some way to retard the timing if detonation/pinging happens... and since it all depends on the gas you get timing gears would not be a logical solution due to you may need to adjust them quite offten... so you are looking at getting a msd or crane ignition system with the timing retard dial so you can take timing out if need be... and thats for just running the increased compression forget about the NOS...

Well putting nitrous on a car is like putting a turbo on. As long as theres enough fuel to mix with the nitrous then you won't burn a hole through your pistons. Also depending on how much nitrous u want to run make sure it doesnt excede 280hp on stock parts or you'll stretch rods.

So if you want to put a 100hp shot of nitrous on your stock motor that would be safe as long as you have a good fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator or bigger injectors.

you have got to make sure to post how the motor holds up under a 150 or 200 shot of nitrous

i know that. if i take the heads off im guna do a #16 cam cam gear a bare ported head from howell with ov sized valves good springs and aluminum light wate rods and if the hypertec piston cant handle alot of nitrous im just guna get wisco pistons drop it in and maybe a mega squart for timing and fuel. and my nitrous is wet system i dont need to enrich the engine i can control the a/f with the regulator to the nitrous.
