Default is it gonna make that big of a difference???

so i ordered some new pistons for my r/t so i can build my motor back up....they are stock compression but with a .020 overbore.....so,
the company sent my sohc pistons and i am waiting to hear from the company to send them back...but,
is it gonna make that big of a difference if i use the sohc pistons compared to waiting the week and a half to get the dohc pistons????
i dont wanna wait, but if its gonna be a noticable difference then i will

this is all I have to say... and do you want to cheat a r/t out of any of its previous glory???

SOHC pistons in a DOHC=9.3:1
DOHC pistons in a DOHC=9.6:1
SOHC pistons in a SOHC=9.8:1
DOHC pistons in a SOHC=10.1:1 (could be 10.3:1 i forget)

SOHC pistons in a DOHC=9.2:1

DOHC pistons in a DOHC=9.6:1
SOHC pistons in a SOHC=9.8:1
DOHC pistons in a SOHC=10.1:1 (could be 10.3:1 i forget)
Been driving around like that all year, and I'd be lying if I told you it was noticeably slower. Mind you it was put together in a pinch, and i would have used dohc pistons given the chance. Be patient and do it correctly is my opinion.

if your buying aftermarket pistons, why dont you just buy the one's with the correct compression rating you want? from my experience it doesnt seem to make any differance in price. and when you say 20 over are you talking about the 88.5mm pistons? expect to pay about another 90bucks to have your block bored out (thats what my machinest charges). Also, are you going hypereutectic or forged?

1st off....i did order the pistons i wanted with the correct compression....but they sent me the wrong ones....(sohc instead of dohc)

when i say .020" over bore, i mean 88mm......020" oversized makes the pistons an 88mm.....
88.5mm would be .040" over

my block has alredy been bored out and is sitting in my garage......i want HP pistons since forged are too expensive and this isnt a high powered build...just a budget rebuild......and im not making the mistake of spending $750 for rods and pistons again[&:]

i bought them from:
