My neon died
im almost positive that its not hydraulic lock. In orderfor that to happen the entire engine would have to be submerged for it to get thru the air filter.
lets say for a second that it is hydraulic lock, taking the plugs out and turning the engine in the normal direction of rotation will push the water out. i know nothing about transmission troubleshooting so i couldnt give you a straight answer on the tranny stuff.

I was hoping to here how this ended up. I am having a similar problem, but took mine through a car wash. Ran fine until a block from home then just died. Cranks over and plenty of juice from the battery. Motor is not locked up. Maybe electrical and or a fuel problem. I'm really not sure. Got it running again......sounded like ti was only running on 2 cyls. for a few seconds. It was just at an idle and all of a sudden sounded like it was a diesel engine and then just sputtered and died. Going to check fuel pressure in the morning. Does anyone know if a sensor or something would cause this conditon? Thanks
