i was at work today and my manger handed me the phone and it was her husband and he was like you still want that neon and i was like yeah so he said well its yours.. so i got to pick it up on saturday.. not a great deal cuz it doesnt run but i just want seats and other misc parts off of it and the engine still has good parts on it.. so i figure for free why not

ill get pics of it saturday... its nice.. to bad its an auto or i woulds swap the 2.4 into it.. but i think its alot of work to swap the to mtx and not really worth it to me.. and i still like my car

 

Cool you got the 2nd Neon

the 2.4 doesn't really seem worth it to me, I love the short stroke on the 2.0 climbs RPM's fast, also spools turbos fast. In the end you bought a $500 motor and still have 150hp and could have spent $500 on a nice ebay turbo kit and had a real power upgrade up into the 215hp range. If anybody disses the ebay kits they are fools, they use the same Garrett and Mitsubishi turbos that are powerfull enough topropell stockDodge Spirits and Daytonas to 12 second quarter mile times with just a flick of the boost controller, good enoughcredentials for me.

If you really want to have some fun and **** somebody off with a Camero or V8go buy a 2.2 turbo Labaron for $50-$100and get rid of the stock boost controller and adjust the boost to 25psi and go line up against a Mustang or Camero and watch them cry when you own them. They will never see it coming. Those old 2.2 cars made a ton of power and could take 25psi on a stock motor.

 

yeah the 150 hp is the same but what about the 165 lbs of torque in which the dohc 2.0 has 130-133 thats 30 more torque lbs. you cant tell me thats not doing something

 

In the long run josh seriously you will have a **** eaten grin on your face when you drive your 2.4 for the first time... I promise you that... everyone that does it doubts it untill they drive it for the first time..

i was going to buy a 95 neon and do the 2.4 swap.... but money got tight, and untill i finish my 02 i am not going to get another project car.... lol, i still will at some point, nice thing about the neons r they are pritty easy to build and tear down....

 

and they are cheap and sometimes FREE

 

12 volt...

how to build a 2.2

1) tear down 2.0
2) take block to machine shop to get honed bored hot tanked...
3) buy this kit http://www.howellautomotive.com/inde...amp;ProdID=383
4) rebuild motor with above kit...
5) enjoy...

i looked decent untill i couldnt get it into the driveway and i decided to push it with the trunk and i broke one of the tailights and dented the trunk which i was hopeing to use both

i really like the color and wouldnt mind my car being this color ill get some more pictures tomorrow in theday time
