Ehtanol laced gas
Is anybody noticing problems running gas laced with, as the sticker on the pump say, up to 10% ethanol?
Here in the central Pa area I'm hearing a lot more about probles caused by vehicle fires on the local traffic reports.

i dont know about fires(except that ethanol based fires are more dangerous) but from what i heard newer cars have no problems running 10% or more ethanol but older cars like ours can require more frequant maintnance
fuel pump needs to be changed along with the orings to a ethonal safe oring... and the injectors need to be bigger along with a lower fuel pressure, witch means a fpr witch means a return line... and a afc or ms to control the fuel... ethonal does not play nice with neons...
I got no problem with Ethonal, even though it decreases gasmileage. Either way I really don't care.
95-96transplant I'm sure is referring to E85 and not standard 87 with 10% Ethonal wrecking seals. The gas stations by me have had 10% Ethonal for as long as I can remember dating back to the early 90s and I can't blame Ethonal for standard wear items. By the time Ethonal would eat away at them you'll probably need to replace them anyway from regular use.
Secret hint, Laquer thinner reduces Ethonal. But of course I'm sure most of you will ignore me or pass it off.

Listen to slash. I read up on it and it seems okay to use laquer thinner. I trust is slash until someone can bring facts to show different. From what i understand its base is the same thing as octane boost.
that sounds intresting. also have you guys ever heard of using antquie moth ***** the old kind you can buy only on ebay still? well i read a lot about they raise octane like crazy!!! just a thought if you guys want to hear more a bout ill gladly talk more
E-85 just to clarify is 85% ethanol and 15% blended fuel is up tp 10% ethanol or methanol many states use blended fuel as they think it help reduce emmisions and shouldn't hurt your car E-85 on the other hand is not worth getting converted my wife's caravan has the flexfuel motor we tried running E85 once and for the 5.00 we saved was not worth it the MPG went down by a third so in reality it wasn't very ecomical the conversion kits are rather costly and I highly doubt you would ever recoup the cost in conversion based on decresed MPG the only way I would suggest possible converting over would be if the quit making
normal gas and didn't want to get rid of the car
