Default RE: What ECU?

Explain spp. It would drive for 20-30 minutes before cutting off every day, or was it random times? Mine has done this consistently for over a month, same amount of time and everything. Seems like a fuel pump would go at different times instead of consistency, but there is a possibilty.

From the little research done, it seems like it's more likely the ECU than the relay, but tat may still be something to look into. It can't be much so I may as well switch it any way.

This is an example of what I mean by needing the numbers on off the ECU:

They have different ones according to what the number is on your stock one. What would be the differences be between all these ECU's? I'm hoping they are just minor differences, and any '95 SOHC auto ECU will work. That will make it way easier.I just want some confirmation on this by the more experienced. Thanks.

If you are gonna spend over $200 on a new ECU, might as well upgrade...

I do not have a manual, and I got this car for mpg, so I dont want to use premium gas. I have a mustang gt with nitrous for performance.

I just want to see if I can use any ecu for a '95 SOHC auto or I have to get the exact one? I work at Advance Auto so I get 20% off of a new one, but I still would prefer a used one if I can find one close by.

Ok, thanks. That will make it easier. Do you know why there are so many differences anyway?

I have also heard of people putting DOHC pcm's in SOHC's. Does this usually work?

It will work, but it will also make your car run rich. Not a good idea since you got the neon for MPG.

I was reading people were still getting high 30's to low 40's mpg wise with a DOHC computer. I thought I read they ran leaner, but then again there is a lot of misinformation on the internet!

It doesn't run leaner....it will run more rich. Also to get the optimum performance out of a DOHC PCM, you would need to run Premium gas (a no-no for you) apparently.

People who run DOHC PCM's on SOHC's usually have the car modded somewhat also.
