Pros: cleaner intake manifold and TB
Cons: damaging to the environment

You won't gain any HP or any other type of gain from doing this. If you don't have an aftermarket PCM then you will get code for the EGR valve.

When your car need power the EGR Valve is closed. when you are in the streets and go slowly your EGR keep your engine cooler and get lower NOx emission

The PCM operates the solenoid. The PCM determines when to energize the solenoid. Exhaust system backpressure controls the transducer.

The EGR system will not function while at idle.
