You could try autozone for the torque wrench. I got one on their loan a tool when I did my 98 neon head for about a hundred dollars then when you take it back they give your money back. Also when I looked at wal-mart the last timeI was there they had one for like thirty something dollars that is if you want to own one but I’m not sure how good their tools are.

i wouldnt go for affordable,i would go for accuracy. If your going to rent one make sure its a click type, these are the most accurate.

this link explains the difference

Yeah looks just like the one I rent 12 volt it was a click type although I have also used a rod type before a little bit of a pain though. But I wish I had of saw those ones neoncrazy101 mentioned for 25 I might just bought it even though I usually buy craftsman and a bit of snap-on tools. I don’t know if could say which one is the best brand kind like them both. I wasn’t sure how accurate the one at wal-mart was just remember seeing one.

So what brand is yours 12 volt if you don’t mind me asking?

i was going to get the Craftsman ones because i only buy Craftsman for the warranty and i like the tools. but their click type torque wrenchs are only warrantied for a year and i've heard stories of them going bad after the warranty is up so i figured, $25 for the Great Neck or like $75 for the Craftsman that i know have failed for other people shortly after the warranty is up.

The one that i have in the pic isa PROTO 1/2 drive 30-150 ftlb Calibrated to +/-3% in clockwise direction and +/-6% in counter clockwise direction .I have anouther craftsmanthats 3/8 drive for the smaller stuff, but i use the proto most of the time.

heres a link

When i went to A&P school this was the brand that all of ther TQ wrenches were and most got beatup pretty bad by the student and they still worked well. So i fugered i would get one, the best thing about this one is its ratcheting head. The onlybad thing about the the clicking head wrenches is they should be calibreted every two years. We have a machine at work that tests them before we have touse it, so every couple of mouths or so ive tested it and its passed since birth in 04.
