Default engine problem

ok so i ran out of gas today after that i put a quarter tank in and tried to fire it back up wouldnt start i checked the fuel pump fuse and it was blown i replaced it and as soon as i crank the motor over it blows the fuse the fuse only blows when i turn the motor over not when i put it to aux i have never had a problem it was running fine before this im not to sure what it could be if anyone has any idea left me know asap i dont feel like shelling out money to get it fixed when i dont even have money for gas lol

check your o2 sensor wireing and also you may have a bad fuel pump. to check unplug your pump and turn car on if fuse blows still your one step closer. keep in mind downstream o2 sensor may be a culprit

sir you have fried your fuel pump... if you ran it dry and then kept trying to restart it it over heated due to it trying to pump dry... the gas acually cools the pump... since it wasent being cooled it decided to take a dump on you... this is also why turbo'ed neons run the return line back to the canister instead of taking the easy route and just putting it back into the filler neck like lots of other cars do...

**** thats what i did then ok not a big deal ill head out sometime today and pick up a new one same thing happened to my buddys car will onyl take a few minutes to put a new one in thanks alot. If thats not the problem i shall return.

I'm pretty sure thats what happened have read multiple times when this was the cause... and running out of gas was the main culprite... be forwarned that a new one is going to set you back a few hundred. And make sure you get the right one for the gas tank that you have...

yeah i have the plastic tank and i can get a used fuel pump for 25 bucks lol i relaced my friends awhile back he has a metal tank either way it took like 10 minute to put a new one in

i got luck i put a new 30 fuse in today to see if it would blow and it fired right up saved me some money lol
