so i was driving my moms white r/t on friday....driving through town at about 30mph....then i hear a little clunk, very light sounding like sumone taping a finger on a desk....then i hear a nother and the speedo stops working...so i stop, go to take off and the car wont go anywhere....
i get out to pop the hood and as im walking around to the front i see tranny fluid running out from under the car.....i look under the hood and the whole back section of the tranny is broken off[&:]the speed sensor was just hanging there and i could see the gears inside the tranny...

yesterday i spent 2 hours at the junk yard ripping a tranny out of a car so monday i will have to put one in.....
i will try to put up pics when i get the old tranny out...

just kinda pisses me off[:@]

 

Wait how did you do that? Do you mean you were driving your moms R/T racing lost control hit the bellhousing off a curb and broke the tranny in half.

 

Thats crappy. The R/T was an automatic? If so, how about a swap to a manual?

 

he threw a diff pin...common neon problem...

 

r/t's are manuals.....

i realized it was the diff. pin once i got home....just kinda pissed me off, but atleast i dont have to pay for it...i just need to do the work
it would have been better though if it would have given me some kind of warning

 

How many miles are on it? Don't burn outs and such cause the pin to fail? Those tabs really are a good investment, for even a daily driven neon.

Diff saver tabs.. they are bolted to the differental itself and little tabs come up and cover the diff pin hole... htere like 5-7 bucks...

oh and Spud... PICS OR BAN... lol

 

I would like some more info on this, difficulty to install, etc.
