Got a problem, a couple weeks ago my wife was driving on the interstate and her battery light came on. She got home, changed clothes and was going to get to her parents so her dad could look at it. Well, b4 she could get outta the neighborhood, her powersteering went out, so she had to manhandle the car back in the driveway. It took me a week b4 I could make the time to put two new belts on, as the others were MIA. When I started it up, nothing but ambient air. No cold, notta, zippo, nothing! I drove as is, for a couple days, and when i'd turn the AC on, it would make a real loud screeching noise right b4 the compressor would kick off. I tightened the belt thinking it wasn't tight enough and slipping, which it wasn't tight enough, no luck. . Her uncle is a mechanic, and he hooked it up to some AC pressure guages and charged with freon.

i guess the belt was sliping because the compressor isnt working??

 

if the system had air in it, ice will crash the compressor

 

anyways, maybe it'll work now... my wifes uncle said that i'ts probably blocked somewhere, and building to much pressure and blowing the blow off valve. any ideas?

 

expansion valve would be a good place to look
