I was tring to pull off the crank shaftpulley and butthe harmonic balancer came off the wheel, If I freeze the center part with dry ice and put them back together will that work or will it set up a vibration? Second if I block the EGR valve will it effect gas milage? if so how and how much?

 

there should have been a rubber piece between the 2 wheels on the pulley, but your best bet is to find another stock one or an aftermarket underdrive pulley

 

my EGR is blocked on my 95 sohc and I get 290 miles per tank with a few beatings mixed in, Im sure if I didnt beat it I could get 310+. For me thats an average of 29 MPG

On 10 Gallons on 310 miles per tankthats 31 miles per gallon. The Neon has a 10 Gallon tank.

 

Wrong...95 and early 96 had 11.2 gallon tanks and the rest have 12.5 gallon tanks.

 

I was always told 10, nice to know its 12.5 in my 98thanks Das

 

the 11.2 gallon tank is the metal one...
12.5 gallon tank is plastic

 

There is a rubber peice its still on the out side wheel, I just want to know if I put them back will it work or will I get vibrations, I am inclined to think the outside is balanced and it would be ok. Just thought somebody might know. Before I took my car apart I was getting 32 up to 35 MPG.
