Default Tail Light Trivia..

Vehicle: 1999 dodge Neon 2.0L Sohc 5-Speed (Pretty much featureless :P)

Symptoms:
*Drivers side tail Lamp has no power. Will not light up for Brakes, 4 way Flashers, Turn Signals.
*The Indicator Blinks fast when turned on, however the passenger side works normal.
* All other Lights work as intended (Except My drivers marker and 3rd Brake which are out, and were out prior to this happening W/ no issues) They Blink, Flash stay on Etc.

What I've Done:
* Changed bulbs (new 3157's Both Sides)
* Verified the bulb worked in the other Light.
*Changed fuses 2(15A) and 6(10A) with New ones.
* Looked over socket for corrosion or what have you. The Socket is Clean, the contacts are gold/bronze still and there is no signs of burning or what have you. Wiring and ground looks clean.

Hoping maybe someone here has some insight.
Thanks.

Its the actual switch thats bad. I just had the same problem. Its just one screw If I remember right. Pull off the top peice of the steering column to get at it. You dont need to remove the ignition or the lower piece.

That wont affect anything. My side marker wires got caught in my tire a long time ago.

Turn signal switch its self bad? Would this effect the brake light as well? might explain a few other oddities. Thanks, Is there a way to test the switch?

Just change it. I changed everything and someone told me that it was that. I has the same problem. Changed bulbs out 5 times, Checked all the wiring. I happened to have a spare switch. Switched it and it worked. The brake light must run in the switch? Just change it!

i had a problem with that to...was poppinf fuses and dimming the bulb....it was the switch and check to see if your liscence bulb wires arent shorting.....i was trying to figure out my tail lamps and i got pissed off and kicked my bumper and the tail light flickered....so i took the bumper off and sure enough the liscence plate wires were fried.....cut them off, taped them up put bumper back on and the tail lights were working again.....
