you like what you like. the DOHC MTX cars were designed to outrun SOHC MTX cars. mod for mod? dohc breathes through bigger ports on both ends. im not sure how you can argue that one. but if i owned a sohc i bet id try. all out dollar for dollar you will havea faster dohc car.

zach you literally stalled the car twice? that seems a bit dramatic. not saying you didnt but damn. how? any ratio on the t350 is pretty forgiving from a stand still. i'd have to all but dump my clutch without pushing the throttle at all to stall my car.

do u still have ur SOHC with dohc pistons running? if not which car/ engine combo are you running right now?

numbers dont lie, go and put an acr or r/t tranny in a sohc, making the gearbox the same as irideneons r/t he drove
sohc will lose, stock for stock, dollar for dollar, as fsu said
coin for coin yyou get get better han somehting that has a 18hp advantage

The actual wheel HP difference is alot closer than those numbers from the "factory".

But to suggest that a SOHX ATX would be quicker than the R/T is just ludacris.

 

I know is brought up alot. That why I am sharing my opinion. I would have loved to see a post like this before I drove one. Because They are are a rare breed around here. I was thinging about it and yes. That dohc is slow. Any way you put it my sohc STOCK would roll that thing stock. I have beat 2 dohcs in my town. But my neon is also known as the fastest neon in town. with my dohc pistons mopar ecu and what not I beat my 15.4 cavy (which it ran stock) and now has mods done by 3 car lengths on are marked quarter mile. Everyone talks alot about dohcs. Alot of people hear about them but neveer get to drive them. This post was to sure my expierence with them.

 

Race a DOHC at the track and see what happens....not on the street. The race is only as good as the drivers.

 

i wish i still had one of my r/t's...then i would have shown you a hell of a ride
next r/t i find for cheap, im buying...unless i just turn the p.o.s. sohc auto into a fast dohc 5-speed...i think that would work better
