Default cat removal

I want to take my cat off but i need to know how loud it will be. And if i t change anything in the system?

It will be a little louder, not that bad at all though. If you have emmisions testing in your area, be prepared to possibly fail, depending on how strict they are. I know in CT if they see there is no cat, you automatically fail wether or not the actual test comes back pass or not. I believe it is also illegal to remove any emmisions parts, although I would not think you would have too many problems, as how many cops pull you over and look under your car.

I dont know if they test that in Michigan or not. And cops love to pull me over for stupid stuff.

yeah doubt they wil look under your car. It won't make it that much louder.

First off after looking through your previous post I find you have a 97 which means you have a post cat O2 sensor that will get mad without a cat. So you have to either find a good O2 simulator or just get a bigger CAT if you are doing this for more flow. If your PCM does not see a good secondary O2 signal you will stay in Open loop and have a Check Engine Light.

I have seen the simulator on modern, I don't rember the price, but it wasn't that bad.
