Default Neon SOHC TURBO

Hello everyone.

Well i got a question, i have a 98 Neon SE SOHC, i worked the head, i installed new pistons, and now the compression ratio its 11,1:1 when the stock its 9.8:1, so i wanna know how much pressure can resist the stock engine with a turbo i mean the top pressure, cuz i wanna install a turbo and i need to know that to see how much pressure i can put into the engine with the turbo
thanks a lot

you dont want to turbo a high compression engine. go NA since you already have higher compression pistons

Ideal compression for almost any forced induction engine is 8.5:1. If you really have the mods you say you do, I would stick a more aggressive cam in there, or tear your motor down and put some lower compression pistons in if you are stuck on a turbo.

high compression with a turbo is a big no-no....you can do it, but it wouldnt be very safe for the motor if you plan on running anything higher then 5 pounds of boost

less room for tuning also with a high compression forced induction aplication... less error means more chances of car going boom boom BOOM

you would also have to put a lot more fuel in there to combat pre-detonation
