98 Dodge neon DOHC ticking problem
hey i traded my friend cars, that where both in not best of shape, but i am wondering where to start off looking for the ticking nosie i have already took the valve cover off and check every thing but everything seems to be ok, the plugs also looks ok

its probably an exhaust leak. the timing cover could be hitting the cam gears or any rotating part in the timing assembly. you could have a frayed belt. lots of stuff could tick.
does the repetition increase with rpms?

ok well since pretty much is with lifters, how do you check the lifters?, or do you have to pull them out to see

First make sure the correct oil is in the car and level is good. If the valve lash adjusters still do not pump up and quiet down(to a point) then replace them. This is providing the rocker arm racks are truly secure to the head (no stripped hold down bolts) and the rockers are in order.
Some have said that switching to synthetic has quieted down the tick as well.
