Hi,
I got a free neon with 200k on it from a guy that works with me. When you start it it sounds like a bucket of bolts. I am currently swapping the engine with a used one from the junk yard. I have no neon experience at all. If anyone has any secrets or suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.
What is the difference with the R/T? I noticed it has two cooling fans even though it is a manual.
Can the engine come out without removing the tranny?
I plan on replacing the clutch while I am in there, are there any other parts I should replace while I am at it?
thanks for the input

the engine can easily be removed while keeping the tranny in the car
r/t's are equipped with an r/t only style rim, deeper bucket seats, leather steering wheel and shift ****, performance tuned suspension (including stiffer springs, better struts, and a rear sway bar), performance 5-speed tranny, color oriented seat cover patterns and a few other minor things
