I know that the iceman will fit on 1st generation auto's if the intake tube is shortened. I was wondering if this is pretty easy to do and how accurate you have to be when cutting it?

I have never heard of that, but its a hard plastic, I would think that you would be cutting the bottom end of it. If you take a little at a time off with a hacksaw you should have no problems.

So is there a need for a by pass valve? I drove threw snow and puddels and didnt mess anything up. ig ot worried a few times though b/c the filter felt very wet. can it suck water up if the filter was dripping with water alittle, or does it have to be completley underwater.

I has to be completly submerged to do any damage. And if you put that bypass on it will ensure that you don't suck water, but you will be going right back to a restrictive set-up. The only difference will be that this one sounds better. Just be careful, it is really hard to suck water, as I have said in other posts you would have to drive through about a foot and a half of water.
