You are using 93 octang w/ the pcm...right? it requires 93 due to it's different timing and fuel map.

usally this happens when you get unburnt fuel into the exhaust (rich mixture), but its call afterfire when it goes out the tail pipe. Backfire is when it spits fire out the intake.O2 sensors could be the issue.

Do you have a rattle from the cat converter when you shift? I did for awhile and it would backfire every now and then. Cat was going bad on me.

no rattle.i have a test pipe insted of cat. i ended up replacing every thing i could think of from injectors to fuel pump ,plugs, wires, coil but not the o2s it runs fine it just idles to a lope an to the point of cut until i give it a little gas .but when i take off i get a sputter an then a backfire.after that drives fine.after all the parts got back a little more hp.could o2s be the problem

TB could be sticking. Take it off and give it a good cleaning.
