Its an auto I assume? By slipping do you mean it jumps in and out of gear when driving? I am not familiar with the situation?

You sure your tranny fluid levels are good. It would not be the linkage. Once it goes into gear it should stay there. There is a adjustment under the center console for the linkage. Does your kick down lever on the tranny move freely? Does it feel like it shifting in between neutral and drive while you are trying to take off? When a tranny is rebuilt that dont rebuild it with all new parts. When a tranny is rebuilt they replace the worn, failed parts. Thats it. So what all was done to the tranny??

That was your first problem. Dodge/Chrysler is known for outsourcing their tranny rebuilds. Take it back!

And I hope you didnt pay a bunch to get your tranny done. A used auto tranny for a neon is very cheap and easy to find.
