Metal one can rust and it's 11.7 gallons as opposed to the 12.5 gallon plastic tank.

Well my main concern is this, everytime i go out and have a nice run my performance goes through the floor all of a sudden, then i start to misfire and i get the code off the computer and its another fuel injector, so far i have been through 2 and its not like they are all junk, they are NGK injectors. I am seriously considering replacing the neck, tank, pump, filter, line, feul rail and injectors and saying to hell with it. Im thinking that the rear suspension needs rebuilt aswell because the rear end jumps all over the road when you try to do 65+, turn hard at 40 or slightly turn at 60. Everytime I go over a bump I get a nice metal to metal knocking noise too.

Pull the fuel rail and clean it out. It's possible it's got some dirt in there.

That is a good idea, a buddy of mine said that if the injectors power the car, they can be cleaned out as well. Any ideas how to clean the fuel rail and possibly injectors? Because what it seems like is I am picking up a piece of something and tossing it through an injector, and all my injectors are slightly rust colored but i was told that was due to the fuel neck rusting out.

Shoot some compressed air through them.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but you guys seem to know something about that purge valve clicking. This just started in my 02 neon (originally I thought it was the engine, freaked me out) but I got under the hood while it was clicking and it was definitely the very same purge valve.
Any idea what causes it? Could I replace with one from a junk yard off of a newer neon like an 05?

you could try swapping in a newer one, but I have heard that the tick is common.

haven't heard of the nasty ticking noise being an issue on the newer ones, i would say that you may just need a new one. mine would tick after the engine was operational temperature and click until cool. this happened on the dohc and sohc models i owned even after the valves were replaced. there was no escaping it.

i would swap yours for a new one and get the lifetime warranty that way you can return it a dozen times if needed.
