Default Purge Valve Clicking Myth

I have a purge valve, or so it is said to be a purge valve. It is located on the left side of the motor and has 2 wires and 2 vac lines, it clicks when the car gets warm, a mechanic friend of mine told me it is just a dodge thing that it is supposed to do that. Another mechanic friend said that he has never heard of a purge valve clicking and I should look at getting that fixed. So, Is it supposed to click? Or, Not?

No offence, it was a volkswagen guy who told me it was bad, the mechanic at the dealership who has been "trained to work on dodge vehicles" told me that it was normal to have it click. Personally I think that it is loud enough that it sounds like my car is going to explode.
