you are most likely going to have to flush the hell out of your motor...
change the oil....run in for a few minuites....change it again...run it...change it again..run it and so on....

depending on how long the car ran after sucking in the water and how much water it sucked in, you may never get rid of the sound without doing a complete overhaul or replacing the motor

I'll have to 2nd the bent ROD. Here is the theory behind it. You suck water through your intake Water by the way is non combustable or compressable. So anyway you suck water through the intake and it goes through a compression stroke you have more water than the amount of space when the engine goes top dead center, you have forward momentum from the previous fire and you bend a rod from the excess torque from the previous fire.....

BTW Have any of you two that said OIL ever had a Head gasket blow out? It progressively has a driveablility problem due to small amounts of water entering the combustion chamber, but doesn't really knock. And the oil is getting water in it as you two theorized.

and again....
it all depends on how much water was sucked in

im pretty sure it sucked in alot, cause before i tryed fixing it i could open the throttle and see the water in the manifold and right after i went through the puddle i bogged down really bad and i saw tons of steam coming out my exhaust
