How do you know it floods? Are you getting spark?

if its flooding its prolly because your pushing the gas on a fuel injected car before you try to start it or your throttle body could be stuck wide open

check this out, when i got my first neon, it was a 96 expresso... it would start and run, but it would run cold all the time, the RPMs would ring high when you pushed the throttle and would take a couple of seconds for them to go back down.

Most of the time if i couldnt keep the car running and the engine would die, it would flood... and it would take me forever to get it running again....

This was cause by my temp sensor... Mine was simply unplugged..

Check this, and see if this has anything to do with your problem, thats the only flooding problem ive saw out of fuel injected engine....

If your throttlebody was stuck wide open... your car would run wide open when it fired up... if your throttlebody is stuck open, dont let it redline... these badboys dont have rev limiters like the 2nd gennys

after i posted this, i saw another thread that was talking about rev limiters... apparently on the 1st gens the late years of the 1st gen did have rev limiters... not sure exactly which ones, thinking it was the 98 nand 99s, but i do know for sure the 96s didnt.... sorry for the misinformation
